4th Prestige International film festival from Feb 25

Indore: Prestige Institute of Management and Research will organize four-day Prestige International Film festival from February 25 to 28 this month. The festival will be inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Jaivardhan Singh and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Minister Surendra Singh Baghel on February 25.

Informing this. PIMR (UG campus) Director Incharge Dr. R K Sharma, Head, Department of Mass Communication, PIMR, Dr. Raju John and Prof. Zuber Khan said the festival would be attended by noted Bollywood personalities and stage play artists including former National School of Drama director Vaman Kendre, Kiran Kumar, Govind Namdev, Yashpal Sharma and television artist Rajesh Kumar respectively.

During the four-day festival, over a dozen movies from India and abroad would be screened. These movies would be judged by the guests from Bollywood and other areas of art and culture. Dr. Sharma said prior to the commencement of international film festival a 48 hour short film making competition would be organized from February 15 to 17 in both amateur and professional categories.

So far 20 entries from India and one from Iran have been received for taking part in this competition, said film festival coordinators Prof. Bhawna Pathak and Prof. Zuber Khan while talking to the media persons adding that participants in this competition would be given theme to make short films of 10 minutes during the course of competition itself. These short films would be screened on the last day of film festival on February 28.

Film festival coordinator Prof. Zuber Khan said the films to be  screened on the second day of film festival on February 26 include Siddhart Chanakya directorial film `Niyati, The Postman of Itly, Asamese film ` Boy with a gun’, Nitish Upadhyay directed film – The Wallet and Aamo Akha Ek Se respectively.

On the same day a master class on acting will be taken by film actor Yashpal Sharma. In the evening, Nitish Upadhyay directed stage play `Usne kaha thaa’ will be staged.

On the third day of  international film festival, the films to be screened include Living on the edge, Rocumentary, Padma, Behrupiye and a movie from Kazakistan – Aua, Are You Volleyball and The Little Riddle respectively. In addition to this, a session on current web series trend would be taken by Alam Khan. The best films in different categories would be awarded by the jury members.

On Thursday, a dangler of Prestige International film festival was also unveiled amidst presentation of group dance by students  of the Department of Mass Communication, PIMR.
