AAI’s Indore Airport awarded as Best Tourist Friendly Airport under National Tourism Awards 2017-18
New Delhi. Airports Authority of India’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport, Indore conferred with the prestigious National Tourism Award 2017-18 at a glittering award function held at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi today on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport, Indore received the Best Tourist Friendly Award in ‘Rest of India’ category. This award was presented to Sh. G. Chandramouli, Regional Executive Director, Western Region, AAI and Smt. AryamaSanyal, Airport Director, Indore by Shri Prahald Singh Patel, Minister of State for Tourism (I/c) & Culture,Govt. of India and Mr. ZurabPololikashvili Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
Hon’ble Vice President of India, Sh. M. Venkaiah Naidu was the Chief Guest during the function. This is the second time; Indore Airport has received this award for their exemplary contribution towards the growth of tourism in the country.
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India annually presents National Tourism Awards to various segments of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. These awards are presented to State Governments / Union Territories, classified hotels, heritage hotels, approved travel agents, tour operators, tourist transport operators, individuals and other private organizations in recognition of their performance in their respective fields.
