500 Trees Planted in a Day, 100% Success Rate for Trees Planted Previous Year

IIM Indore’s Social Sensitivity Cell Pragati in association with Forest Department, Government of MP, held a Tree Plantation Drive on July 19, 2018 at the Institute. 500 trees of neem, kachnar, borsali, karanj, peepal and bargad were planted on the land near the Cricket Stadium in the campus. Entire IIM Indore community including Mr. PurushotamDhiman, Chief Conservator of Forest,Government of MP, along with his team members; and Professor Rishikesha T. Krishnan, Director, IIM Indore; Col. GururajGopinathPamidi (Retd.), CAO, IIM Indore;Pragati Team members and administrative staff members took part in the drive.

Mr. Dhiman appreciated the efforts put by the IIM Indore community to enhance greenery across the campus and maintain a clean and serene surroundings. Pragati Team also thanked Mr. Dhiman for his support in providing the saplings and manpower and motivating the students in keeping their spirits high to save environment. Professor Krishnan also congratulated the Pragati Team students for successfully organizing the tree plantation drive.

IIM Indore aims to protect the biodiversity across the campus by saving the environment and protecting mother earth. The campus is also a residence to a variety of birds who live on the trees all around the hillock. Previous year as well, IIM Indore community planted 500 trees and all the trees have grown green and high by this year’s plantation drive.

The Institute also has a dog pound to take care of the stray dogs residing in the campus and are fed and kept in a shelter to provide them a safe and comfortable environment during changing weather. They are also taken care by the veterinary doctors as and when need arises. A few trees are also been planted in the dog pound for shade.

IIM Indore looks forward to increasing the number of plants in the coming year, thereby providing greener and soothing environment to the birds and animals in the campus.
