Abhishek Kapoor’s ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ Celebrates its Second Anniversary

Celebrating the second anniversary on December 10th of director Abhishek Kapoor’s film “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui,” we reflect on the impact of his skillful direction. Kapoor, acclaimed for his storytelling talent, brought forth a touching love story that impacted hearts globally. Known for his cult classics ‘Rock On!!’, ‘Kai Po Che’ and “Kedarnath’, ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ stands as a testament to Kapoor’s unique storytelling and directorial finesse in capturing emotions beautifully.

On this occasion, Kapoor said, “It has been two years since the film’s release. I feel honoured to have shared this narrative, shedding light on the plight of the transgender community. It was my sincere effort to get the voices of the LGBTQAI+ community out there and help foster societal acceptance. While heartfelt, true change required reaching the masses with a mainstream approach, incorporating music and celebration, and initiating a conversation for understanding, and the film did just that.” Not only did the film capture contemporary romance, but it also captured the blend of depth in the stellar cast, which emphasised storytelling and character development.

As we celebrate two years of this cinematic masterpiece, we acknowledge Abhishek Kapoor’s invaluable contribution to Indian cinema. On the work front, Kapoor is directing Ajay Devgn’s in his upcoming untitled project.
