Actress Jade Asha Warns people about AirBnBs and hiring Private Villas, talks of her own unfortunate experience
Actress Jade Asha and nine of her closest friends travelled to Ibiza for her hen do. They hired a luxury private villa in playa den bossa and ended up experiencing the worst kind of theft of over £27,000 including laptops, ipads, mobile phones, jewellery, cameras, designer clothes and bags.
When leaving for a night out they securely locked the villa and took all of the keys with them but on their return at 5am they found glass smashed in the main door of the villa and the doors ajar in the out houses. They had been robbed!
Jade narrates the bitter feelings that went through the girls,“We felt extremely vulnerable that night, knowing that the thief’s were still out there potentially with a set of keys. We refused to let the incident ruin our holiday and did our best to carry on and have a good time but we couldn’t forget what had happened. Nor ignore the fact that the thieves had only taken our belongings and not touched anything belonging to the villa. We want to share our story to warn others that these things are still happening and according to the spanish police, very common.”
She also shares what she learnt from this ordeal and some tips for others,”My advice for hiring a villa abroad would be 1) Always have insurance. 2) Wherever possible never take anything of value. 3) Back up all of your work and devices 4) Never leave anyone alone or let anyone know that the villa is unattended 5) If possible go for a hotel over a villa as they are a lot more secure.”
