Center of Economic Gravity is shifting to Asia : Vishnu Prakash

14h PIMR international conference kicks off

Indore:  When the present Indian Prime Minister had come to Sanghai in 2007 as Gaujarat chief minister, he got apparently amazed by seeing the development in China. He asked me a question as to why China was so developed? Being an Indian envoy to China at that time, I told him that it had become possible because of a leader who in the year 1978, told the village people to make roads so as to enable girls to go to their schools as before 1978, China was counted as an atrociously a poor country but in 1978 when this leader took reigns of China, he brought about a metamorphosis,

said former ambassador to Korea and Canada Vishnu Prakash while addressing 14th international conference on  “Rethinking Strategies For Leadership and Governance in Emerging Global Scenario” at the Prestige Institute of Management and Research here on Saturday.

While describing  Leadership, change, connectivity, education and empowerment of girls an important tools of nation’s development, Vishnu Prakash, an expert on foreign affairs said we all need to follow the development of China. The difference between other powers and China is that China is an opaque country.

They want to create a China-centric world. The Center of Economic Gravity is shifting to Asia. What will the 21st century be like? Century of struggle or peace? Even today, though the Cold War has ended today, there is still a cold confrontation between China and America over the supremacy.
