Fashion tech startup StyleDotMe has introduced an AR technology called mirrAR
StyleDotMe, a homegrown fashion tech startup, has introduced an AR technology called mirrAR which is the world’s first real-time AR software for Jewellers. The AR platform allows shoppers to try jewellery on digital platforms of client brands without actually having to wear the pieces from any place around the world.
They are looking forward to revolutionizing the whole shopping experience through virtual and contactless try-ons. According to a report by Gartner inc, 100 Million users will shop in AR online and in-store by 2020.
In India, they expect the Immersive Media market to grow to USD 6.5 Bn by 2022 while Augmented Reality is estimated to grow to USD 5.9 Bn and Virtual Reality to USD 0.5 Bn by 2022.
The unique selling point for StyleDotMe is their innovative AR technology, mirrAR that works automatically on digitized versions of jewellery in real-time, while the other products in the market require consumers to manually position the jewellery on themselves.
mirrAR can also be plugged into any platform whether it’s a device like an iPad or on the web, that further allows for both offline and online integration and efficient use of the product.
The current scenario of COVID-19 pandemic has made digitization and contactless culture, the need of the hour. The norm of social distancing may become a trend for the foreseeable future and technology will play a critical role for retailers and the fashion industry for the next few years especially the AR tech which can enable the same experience online for consumers that one has while shopping in-person at a store.
StyleDotMe’s tech, mirrAR allows users to virtually try-on jewellery with no physical inventory in the store, and this also solves the issue of sanitization associated with jewellery. It also gives customers unlimited try-ons leading to the smaller sales cycle.
The idea behind mirrAR is to help jewellers provide access to a much larger inventory to their clients globally. It also helps jewellery brands to increase their reach and enable easy checkouts by providing shoppers with more product options and the ability to see multiple jewellery pieces on themselves in quick sessions.
MirrAR has been showcased at 5 National and international exhibitions including JCK Las Vegas & Inhorgenta in Munich, Germany. In one year, they have been able to acquire from 30 clients to 150 clients in 25+cities in India. It is being used by leading retailers/jewellers like Tanishq, Amrapali, PC Jewellers, Atul Jewellers, Kalyan Jewellers, Senco and many more.
