Shaleen Malhotra’s talks about how he prepared himself to essay the role of Rishi Burman in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan
Shaleen Malhotra is all set to make a grand entry in Sony Entertainment Television’s Mere Dad Ki Dulhan. He will be seen joining the cast – Varun Badola (Ambar), Shweta Tiwari (Guneet) and Anjali Tatrari (Niya) in the upcoming fresh episodes that will start soon on the channel. The actor will play the role of Rishi Burman, who is said to be Anjali Tatrari’s love interest in the show.
The audience will witness how his entry will be a game-changer in the plot. Shaleen’s previous roles have been raw, brooding, and intense in nature, which is quite different from the one he is essaying in the show.
In Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, his character Rishi Burman is a businessman who is a charmer by nature. Shaleen has not essayed such a character earlier and is therefore looking up to this new challenge. The actor is quite excited to step into the shoes of Rishi.
Talking about how he prepared himself for the role, Shaleen says, “In my previous shows, I have played dark, strong, and intense characters. This role is quite different from all of them. I’m looking forward to portraying Rishi on the small screen.
However, to get in the skin of the character, I used to video call Anjali and we would rehearse our lines, talk about the equation between our characters and prepare for the same.
Also, while talking with her I got to know that she love punjabi’s culture and food, and my mum cooks amazing food which Anjali loved, so this helped us to bond and get to know each other better.”
“Moreover, I have lost weight to look younger to essay the role of Rishi. For most of my previous characters, I had to gain weight. However, now I am looking fitter and leaner.
Throughout lockdown, I was on a strict diet and have rigorously worked out, so that I could meet the requirements of the character. I hope my fans love my new role,” he further added.
