Shreyas Talpade opens up on playing mental health advocate in his next project ‘Swagatam’ on Sony Liv, talks about his connection with ‘mental health’ as a brand ambassador in real life as well!
Shreyas Talpade is one of the most wonderful and incredible actors that we have in the Indian entertainment industry. The actor has proven his class, mettle and potential in literally every genre that he’s worked and goes without saying that he is elegance personified for real when it comes to on-screen performance and dynamics. The actor is known for pushing himself beyond regular limits to achieve excellence and that’s why, whenever he has a project releasing, fans know for a fact that he is coming up with something special and engaging for real. The actor took to his social media to reveal that he is all set to be a part of Sony Liv’s upcoming project ‘Swagatam’ that releases on 10th October, 2024. The film is an anthology of six different stories that deal with mental health issues and it is going to be produced by Applause Entertainment. What makes the project all the way more special and worthy of resonating for the actor is that he is also the brand ambassador and face of Bombay Psychiatric Society. On being asked about his feelings of playing a role on-screen similar to his real life, the actor says and we quote,
“Well, I feel that mental health is a subject that we all should talk about openly without any inhibitions. For the longest time and unfortunately, it has been a taboo and people have always felt scared of being judged if they talk about it. Slowly and steadily, things are getting better and I see more conversations happening around it. As the brand ambassador and face of Bombay Psychiatric, I have always tried to do my best to spread positivity and awareness around the same. The fact that the universe had it in its plan for me that I will get to play something similar on-screen as well as an actor is truly remarkable and brilliant. I connected the dots of my real life to bring this character alive on-screen and I am so glad such projects are coming out. There shouldn’t be any stigma around it and it’s important to realise that if mental health isn’t take seriously, physical health means nothing because you won’t feel good from within. I am looking forward to the project releasing soon and influencing the minds and hearts of people towards the right direction when it comes to mental health.”
On the work front, apart from this, Shreyas has some other interesting projects happening at his end, the official announcements of which will take place soon as per the ideal timelines. Stay tuned for more updates.
