PIEMR holds `Abhiyantriki Diksharambh’ for new engineering students
Indore: A virtual induction ceremony of the Prestige Institute of Engineering Management and Research (PIEMR) christened as “Abhiyantriki Diksharambh Ceremony” was organized for the newly admitted students of batch 2020-21 B.Tech and Diploma courses.
Dr. Joao Valente, UAVS. Robotics & Artificial Intelligence expert from Netherlands, Dr. D.P. Kothari, Ex Director IIT Delhi and Kargil war hero Brigadier Harish Chande who were the chief guest and guests of honour, shared their words of wisdom with future budding engineers.
Dr. Joao in his address talked about agricultural research and application of robotics and programmed drones in agriculture, global warming and climate change, MOOC drones for agriculture, prepare and design your drone (UAV) Mission.
Dr. Kothari spoke on different opportunities after engineering, asking students to learn for working in recent trends in engineering. He also shed light on the areas in which the government provides funding like research & development etc.
Brigadier Chande talked about as what should be the focus of engineers like – youth volunteerism for protection and preservation of ecology, biodiversity and total environment, youth be empowered to be “role models” for each other. He also spoke on opportunities for young engineers in the army.
Prestige Education Foundation chairman Dr Davish Jain while congratulating the newly admitted engineering students ask them to dream big and lay focus on entrepreneurship and innovations. He said the very purpose of starting a reputed engineering college like PIEMR is to create world class technocrats and give thrust to innovations and entrepreneurship so that instead of job seekers, they become job creators.
PIEMR Director, Dr Manoj Kumar Deshpande while welcoming new students highlighted the importance of having good technical knowledge for enhancing career and placement opportunities for students. Prestige Education Foundation COO, Dr Anil Bajpai also spoke on the occasion asking students to know three things to become successful in their engineering journey.
PIEMR Training & Placement Officer Professor Saurabh Bhattacharya conducted industry institute interaction with industry experts so as to enable future engineers get a good idea about industry expectations. Dr. Preeti Gupta, Dr. Bindiya Sharma, HOD’s ASH, Professor Hemant Sharma, Assoc. Dean Academics, and Professor Rajeev Raghuvanshi, Head of Counseling Department conducted the programme.
