‘Shree Baba NeebKaroriMaharaj’ Receives Positive Response Post Release; Director Sharad Singh Thakur Calls It “A Victory Of Faith”
Mumbai, 29thMay 2026: After a long legal battle, delays, and months of uncertainty, SubodhBhave-starrer Shree Baba NeebKaroriMaharaj has finally hit theatres and is receiving encouraging responses from audiences and devotees alike. Based on the life and teachings of NeemKaroli Baba, the film released on May 29 and has sparked emotional reactions among viewers.
Director Sharad Singh Thakur, reflecting on the film’s release journey and audience response, called the moment deeply emotional and spiritual.
“Relief, gratitude, and a deep sense of responsibility — that’s what I feel right now. For more than four years, this film has been our tapasya. There were moments we thought the film would never see the light. Now that audiences are watching it and connecting with it, it feels like Baba himself has blessed this journey,” he shared.
The filmmaker revealed that the overwhelming response from devotees has been particularly moving, especially for actor SubodhBhave’s portrayal of NeemKaroli Baba.
“We never wanted to make a miracle show. We wanted to show the man behind the miracles — his simplicity, compassion, humour, and humanity. The biggest validation has been devotees saying it felt like Baba was back on screen. That response means everything to us,” said Sharad.
Speaking about the difficult road to release, which involved a writ petition in the Bombay High Court, the director said the experience strengthened his faith.
“It hurt financially and emotionally, but spiritually, it made us stronger. This film is not ‘ours’ alone — it belongs to Maharaj-ji and the millions who believe in his teachings. We tried our best as honest messengers, and now seeing people embrace the film feels like a victory of faith,” he added.
Also starring HitenTejwani, SamiksshaBhatnagar, HemantPandey, and Aniruddh Dave, Shree Baba NeebKaroriMaharaj is currently running in theatres. It is produced by BalramGarg, Balvir Singh, Sharad Singh Thakur, Khadag Singh Gaur, and Neelam Singh, and presented by Anisha Films International in collaboration with PC Jeweller and BSR Film Production.
