Popularly known as Laxmi Bai, Manikarnika finds herself betrothed to Gangadhar Rao Newalkar, Jhansi’s infamous king at a very tender age.The story traces her journey of evolving into a reformist and a lion-hearted warrior queen who not just fights against societal stereotypes, British regime and the internal conflicts which brewed in her family which she called her own.
Commenting on her role in the show Anushka said, “Jhansi Ki Rani is such prominent name in our nation’s history, she is a warrior that every girl can only aim to become. It’s an honour to get an chance to play a queen who fought many stereotypes and changed the reality of Jhansi.
