Stopped playing Holi a long time ago: Abhigyan Jha

Abhigyan Jha, the man behind writing movie like Krishna Cottage and creating shows like Movers & Shakers, Jay Hind!, Qubool Hai 2.0, and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Janani – AI Ki Kahani, to name some, is not too excited about Holi, which will be celebrated on March 14. Though he shared that he organises Holi parties for the society he lives in, he is not too fond of the festival per se.
“I stopped playing Holi a long time ago. I think I haven’t played with colours since I was 10 years old. I just feel that the festival is not for me. Even with dry Holi, there is dust everywhere because of the gulaal, and I can’t take it. But yes, if it is put safely in a closed environment, then it’s ok, but otherwise I don’t enjoy the festival at all,” he said.
Talking about a Holi memory, which was rather traumatising for him, he shared that his uncle, who was in his teens then, decided to do a Holi prank on Abhigyan with his friends, and that did not end well. “I was ten, and my uncle must have been a teen, so he and his friends got some potassium permanganate, and it went in my eyes. My eyes swelled up, and it was really bad. Since that day I don’t play Holi,” he said. But while Abhigyan doesn’t play with colours, he makes sure he enjoys all the Holi-special food. “I am a big fan of malpua and bhaang. These two are always welcome on Holi,” he said.
