Students of VMSIIHE roll out the red carpet for a themed banquet celebration

Panaji. The prestigious V.M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) recently hosted a themed banquet service as part of its practical training sessions. Celebrated chefs Andavan Kadir and Nimi Kadir graced the occasion in the presence of the faculty.

The theme selected was the global premier of the Netflix film Social Dilemma which was hosted at Creams Restaurant the in-house restaurant on VMSIIHE’s sprawling campus in Raia. From a black and red themed decor for the red-carpet event to a lavish sit-down lunch, the students pulled off all the stops to organise a truly fabulous event.

The especially curated banquet menu captivated the guests as they wholeheartedly had their fill with the courses that were served. The lavish menu included a Smoked Rosemary Chicken Breast with Pineapple Salsa and Quinoa Salad as appetizers accompanied by a delicious Tomato Consommé with a Ricotta Tortellini. For the main course guests were served fresh Grilled Fish with a tangy orange sauce. The lovely afternoon ended with a Lemon Tart and Strawberry Compote to wrap up the banquet.

Speaking about the banquet said “Chef Andavan Kadir who had previously worked at The Oberoi and is currently a consultant at IndyChef, “I would sum the days experience to one of the best meals that could be presented by a first-year batch of students, of a culinary institute.

All the participating students were very much involved, motivated and passionate in what they were doing to churn out such a wonderful and memorable banquet. Hats off to the faculty and all the support staff too. And a big salute to the Director and Principal Irfan Mirza for his leadership and commitment to this great institute of learning.”
