Veer Pahariya sums up Prem Keetanu in three words during Bigg Boss: ‘Pyaar mein katna’
Veer Pahariya has found a rather candid way to describe Prem Keetanu: “Pyaar mein katna.” During his appearance on Bigg Boss 20, the actor summed up the film with the phrase, which neatly captures the romantic comedy’s central joke – its hero is not exactly a winner when it comes to love.
In Prem Keetanu, Veer plays a young man who falls hard, only to discover that being hopelessly in love does not necessarily mean getting the girl. His romantic journey is packed with missteps, heartbreak and the sort of bad luck that makes you wonder whether some people are simply better equipped for friendship than relationships.
That is where the film’s title and Veer’s three-word description meet. Rather than presenting another picture-perfect Bollywood lover who effortlessly gets his happily-ever-after, Prem Keetanu follows a guy who keeps getting punched down in love, sometimes because he misreads situations, sometimes because romance simply refuses to go his way.
The interaction of the show also captured the film’s easy, self-aware humour. Veer’s character is not a tragic Devdas; he is a young man fumbling through love, making mistakes and learning the hard way that heartbreak can be as much a part of growing up as falling in love.
And perhaps that is what makes “pyaar mein katna” such an apt three-word summary. In Prem Keetanu, love isn’t about being the hero who always wins the girl. Sometimes, the hero is the guy who keeps losing in love and still gets back in the game.
