In a moving note, Kapoor thanked Javed Akhtar for recommending his name for his role. He recalled how he felt “nervous and isolated” and Smita Patil made him feel like a family with her kind gesture. “I still remember staying in a remote hotel, hours away from the location, feeling nervous and isolated. That’s when Smita j’s incredible generosity came through – she insisted I move closer to the set and even offered me her room, treating me like family. Her kindness made all the difference for me,” he wrote.
The megastar shared that he is deeply grateful for being part of the film, which featured him alongside Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and others. “These memories are etched in my heart forever,” he concluded. ‘Shakti’ is also a testament to how far Kapoor has come in his journey as an actor.
Meanwhile, Kapoor is having a great year. After wreaking havoc at the box office with ‘Fighter’, Kapoor went on to feature in TIME100AI list, his series ‘The Night Manager’ grabbed an Emmy nomination, and recently, he won an IIFA award for his performance in ‘Animal’. As he continues to break norms, his audiences are looking forward to ‘Subedaar’, which marks Kapoor’s first project with director Suresh Triveni.
