Panchami Ghavri Applauds ‘Kill’: A Regular-Looking Antagonist, Not Someone Who’s Typical With A Big Body, Was A Really Cool Take On An Anti Hero

When Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s “Kill” hit theaters, the industry was taken aback by the overwhelming response to the action thriller. The film, featuring Lakshya (Laksh Lalwani), Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala, garnered positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Now, Panchami Ghavri, the casting director known for her work on films and OTT shows like “Mr. and Mrs. Mahi,” “The Crew,” “Murder Mubarak,” “Karmma Calling,” and “Showtime,” shares her thoughts on the film.

Panchami’s keen eye for talent is evident in her recognition of Lakshya and Raghav’s performances. She highlighted Raghav’s portrayal of the antagonist, appreciating the unique choice to cast a regular-looking individual, which added a fresh perspective to the character. She said, “I really enjoyed ‘Kill’ as a film. I thought the performances were solid. Both the boys, Lakshya and Raghav, did a really good job. Raghav’s cruel sense of humour and the way he’s written really stood out for me. Also, the fact that they made the antagonist a regular-looking guy was interesting. Not someone who’s typical with a big body, etc., I thought that was a really cool take on an anti-hero,” Panchami remarked.

“I even reached out to Ashish Vidhyarthi and Tanya to tell them how lovely it was to see them. Tanya especially, I think she really came through in the emotional scenes. You feel strongly about the presence of her character in the film,” she added.

Panchami also praised veteran actor Ashish Vidhyarthi and Tanya for their roles, particularly Tanya’s emotional depth, which added a poignant layer to the film.

“Of course, the film is quite violent, but I like that Nikhil, the director, has kept the audience very gripped in the story. I think my favorite moment in the film is the redemption of Siddhi dying given to the mother instead of the hero. That was a really powerful moment in the film for me!”

Director Nikhil’s storytelling prowess and ability to balance violence with a compelling narrative did not go unnoticed. Panchami went on to say, “The action in the film is phenomenal. I can understand how difficult it is to keep the audience hooked when you’re restricted with a train as your only location!”

Panchami Ghavri, known for her work in casting major hits, is currently involved in several upcoming projects. These include “Call Me Bae” starring Ananya Pandey, “The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair” with Akshay Kumar, Kayoze Irani’s film “SarZameen” featuring Ibrahim Ali as the main lead, and Maddock Films’ “Shiddat 2” starring Sunny Kaushal and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Her praise for “Kill” adds to the anticipation and recognition of the film, further solidifying its place as a standout in the action thriller genre.
