Rohena Gera’s Sir gains momentum worldwide!
Rohena Gera’s Sir is surely a film to watch out for. The Vivek Gomber-Tillotama Shome starrer has been quite a regular at festivals world over and has even had theatrical releases in France, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and the Netherlands. In fact, several more theatrical releases have been lined up for April and May.
The film will release in Canada and Sweden on the 19th of April, Denmark on the 9th of April and Taiwan on the 24th of April. In May, it will hit theatres in Isreal on the 23rd, Norway on the 10th and Brazil on the 25th.
In France, the film has bagged the spot of the 2nd highest business done by an Indian film (The Lunchbox retaining the number 1 spot) and is currently in its 13th week. It is also slated to release in Japan and Colombia, however, the dates are yet to be finalised.
Additionally, after its premiere at the Cannes film festival and several awards around the globe, Sir is now touring Indian film festivals worldwide.
The other festivals which Sir would be part of include Sonoma International film festival (California), where it would be the closing film, New York Indian Film Festival, which would open with Sir and the London Indian Film Festival, where it is the closing night gala film (at BFI Southbank). It will also be shown at Dallas Fort Worth Indian film festival, International film festival of South Asia: Toronto and Indie Meme festival (Austin Texas).
The story of the film revolves around an unlikely attraction between a man and his maidservant. It has been produced by Brice Poisson and Gera.
