Nikhil Nanda: Navratri is a special time
Actor-entrepreneur Nikhil Nanda says that Navratri has always been a special time for him. He adds that people change so many things in their lives during these nine days.
“Navratri is a special time when we consciously remember the goddess over a period of nine days, following certain rituals. I’m a vegetarian and a teetotaler, but many people abstain from non-vegetarian food and alcohol during this period. In our home, we celebrate each of the nine days with special food cooked for Matarani. It’s a sacred time for all of us, and it marks the beginning of the festive season, starting with Navratri, leading to Dussehra, and finally culminating in Diwali,” he says.
He adds, “Fasting is another significant aspect that many people observe during Navratri, and we prepare special dishes for the occasion. Whether through films or religious stories, we celebrate the triumph of good over evil—a theme deeply rooted in our history and rich cultural heritage, passed down from generation to generation. This time of year is truly about celebrating that victory of goodness.”
