04 April 2026, Mumbai: The upcoming episode of Indian Idol promises heartfelt moments and nostalgia as contestant Abhishek Kumar delivers a soulful performance on a classic song associated with Shashi Kapoor, leaving everyone deeply moved.
Touched by the performance, judge Geeta Kapur became emotional and shared a personal memory, saying, “Maine yeh kabhi share nahi kiya, lekin meri mummy mujhe lori ke taur par yeh gaana gaati thi ‘Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi, yun hi nahi dil lubhaata koi… jahan poori duniya suraj hain, mera chanda hain tu.’ Aaj yeh gaana sunke bahut saari yaadein wapas aa gayi.”
Following this, host Aditya Narayan asked Karisma Kapoor to share her thoughts on the performance and about Shashi Kapoor. Praising Abhishek, Karisma said, “Aapki simplicity aur jo thehraav hai aapki awaaz mein, woh bahut khoobsurat hai.”
She further added, “Shashi ji ki personality bhi bilkul aisi hi thi bahut simple, lekin bahut impactful. Woh har cheez apni hi ada mein karte the. Not only was he a great actor, director, and producer, but also a passionate theatre personality.”
Karisma also spoke about his contribution to theatre and said, “Shashi uncle Prithvi Theatre chalate the aur unhone bahut saare logon ko break diya, ek alag platform diya. Yeh jo arts ke liye pyaar hai, yeh ek khoobsurat tradition hain joh aaj tak chalta aa raha hai. Mere great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor ne joh shuruaat ki thi woh bhi ek theatre actor the aur aaj tak woh legacy continue ho rahi hain.”
The episode beautifully captures the emotional connection between music, memories, and legacy, making it a must-watch for audiences.
