Tier-II City Breaks New Ground: Burhanpur’s All Is Well Multispeciality Hospital Performs First Successful Kidney Transplant.
BURHANPUR, Madhya Pradesh, May 20, 2026 : All Is Well Multispeciality Hospital has successfully performed its first kidney transplant, a landmark procedure that positions Burhanpur as a centre for advanced medical care and ends the long dependence of patients in the Nimar and Khandesh regions on distant metropolitan hospitals for organ transplantation.
The surgery was performed on May 15, 2026, on Pranjal, a young patient from Kerpani village in Nepanagar, who had been on dialysis for several months after exhausting treatment options in Burhanpur, Nagpur, and Wardha. His mother, asha worker, Mrs. Rajni Katekar, donated a kidney in a living-related procedure cleared by SOTTO Madhya Pradesh. A joint surgical team from All Is Well Hospital and Shalby Hospital, Indore, comprising uro-surgeon Dr. Prashant Khairnar, Dr. Prithviraj Gomsale, nephrologists Dr. Pranjal Kashiv and Dr. Madhur Maniyar, and anesthesiologist Dr. Hiteshi Bais, completed the complex laparoscopic transplant successfully. Both donor and recipient are stable and recovering well.
For decades, patients from semi-urban Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra travelled to Indore, Mumbai, or Pune for organ transplants, bearing significant financial and emotional costs. This procedure demonstrates that such care is now available locally.
“This is not merely a surgical milestone, it is proof that world-class medical care can and must reach every district of this country,” said Anand Prakash Chouksey, Founder Chairman. “A patient in Burhanpur deserves the same standard of care as one in Mumbai. Today, we have demonstrated exactly that.”
Kabir Chouksey, Managing Director, added: “Our team has worked with immense dedication to make this possible. This is the beginning, we intend to make organ transplantation a routine, accessible service for the people of the Nimar belt and beyond.”

The procedure followed three months of rigorous evaluation, counselling, and legal clearances under the guidance of nephrologist Dr. Madhur Maniyar and transplant coordinator Mrs. Preeti Khairnar. Hospital Executive Director Mrs. Devanshi Chouksey provided direct support to the family throughout the process.
All Is Well Hospital has previously pioneered advanced procedures in the Nimar region, including angiography, angioplasty, open-heart surgery, valve replacement, brain surgery, and cancer surgery. The addition of kidney transplantation marks its next stage as a super-specialty and transplant referral centre in central India.
