Indore-based Carragreen secures an investment of 50 lakhs on Shark Tank India
Mumbai :- With an evolved mindset where Indians were looking for avenues like – financial security, self-dependence, and space for innovation, it was the most opportunistic time for SHARK TANK INDIA to hit the screens. A clutter breaker in true sense, Shark Tank India truly reflects how Badalte Bharat ki nayi soch ko mil raha hain ek naya manch, jahan ubharte businessmen ke sapne honge sach!
Within weeks of its launch, Shark Tank India has managed to garner enough and more attention from the viewers. This week will see a unique business idea from Ecopreneurs – Surabhi Shah and Chetna Shah, a daughter in law and mother-in-law jodi from Indore, MP. Their business Carragreen that provides cost-effective and eco-friendly products received a deal of 50 Lakhs for a 20% from Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal.
In a world that’s ‘plastic’ Carragreen aims to provide a ‘green’ solution. With a mission to fight against deforestation & plastic pollution and pledging to reduce plastic use, reuse, and recycle paper, Carragreen provides biodegradable and compostable products at affordable rates. The mother-in-law daughter-in-law duo through Carragreen provide innovative products that are a substitute for disposable plastic at affordable rates.
Carragreen Founder Surabhi Shah says, “Since the beginning, both my mother-in-law and I have felt strongly about biodegradable products and minimizing the use of plastic. Most of us are habituated to using plastic products without even realizing – be it straws, spoons, plates, etc. Unfortunately, these are treated as single use products and therefore disposed off immediately which in turn has a hazardous effect on the environment. Our company Carragreen is a small step towards changing this ‘plastic-dependent’ mindset and opting for eco-friendly solutions. I am glad that the Sharks found this worthy and I would like to thank Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal for investing in Carragreen. I am thankful to Shark Tank India for giving us a platform to reach millions with our thought. We truly intend to create awareness and present the masses with choices that won’t threaten our coming generations.”
Tune in to Shark Tank India every Mon-Fri at 9:00pm only on Sony Entertainment Television
