NSE’s consolidated total income in Q2 FY25 up by 25% YoY to Rs 5,023 crores
NSE’s consolidated profit in Q2 FY25 up by 57% YoY to Rs 3,137 crores
NSE contributed Rs 30,130 crores to the exchequer in H1 FY25
NSE, India’s leading exchange, reported consolidated total income of Rs 5,023 crores for Q2 FY25, up by 25% on a year-on-year basis. Apart from trading revenue, the revenue from operations was also supported by other revenue lines which mainly includes clearing services, data centre & connectivity charges, listing services, index services and data services.
NSE posted net profit of Rs 3,137 crores on a consolidated basis for Q2 FY25, up by 57% on a year-on-year basis. The net profit margin for Q2 FY25 stood at 62%.
On a consolidated basis, earnings per share (non-annualised) increased to Rs 12.68 in Q2 FY25 from Rs 8.08 in Q2 FY24, after considering the issuance of bonus equity shares in the ratio of 4:1.
For the half-year ended September 30, 2024, NSE on a consolidated basis, reported total income of Rs 9,974 crores with net profit of Rs 5,704 crores. Earnings per share (non-annualised) in H1 FY25 increased to Rs 23.05 from Rs 15.52 in H1 FY24, after considering the issuance of bonus equity shares in the ratio of 4:1.
NSE, on a standalone basis, reported total income of Rs 5,297 crores depicting a growth of 35% on a year-on-year basis in Q2 FY25. Operating revenue, on a standalone basis, increased by 19% YoY to Rs 4,042 crores in Q2 FY25.
On the trading volumes front, cash markets recorded an average daily traded volumes (ADTVs) of Rs 1,29,194 crores (up by 66% YoY) while the equity futures reached an ADTV of Rs 2,01,547 crores (up by 64% YoY) and equity options (premium value) ADTVs stood at Rs 65,648 crores (up by 8% YoY) for Q2 FY25.
NSE, on a standalone basis, incurred total expenses of Rs 1,546 crores for Q2 FY25. Majority of these expenses are towards SEBI regulatory fees, SEBI settlement fees (in the matter of Trading Access Point Architecture and Network Connectivity of NSE) and contribution to Investor Protection Fund Trust.
NSE on a standalone basis, posted an operating EBITDA margin of 64% for Q2 FY25 compared to 54% in the corresponding quarter last year.
NSE reported standalone net profit of Rs 2,954 crores for Q2 FY25 which was Rs 1,804 crores for the corresponding quarter last year. The net standalone profit margin stood at 56%.
In H1 FY25, standalone total income stood at Rs 9,675 crores of which operating revenue was Rs 8,093 crores. Operating EBITDA was Rs 4,992 crores and net profit was Rs 4,914 crores during the same period.
NSE contributed Rs 30,130 crores to the exchequer in H1 FY25 which comprised STT/CTT of Rs 24,755 crores, stamp duty of Rs 2,099 crores, SEBI fees of Rs 1,333 crores, income tax of Rs 1,119 crores and GST of Rs 824 crores. Out of the STT/CTT of Rs 24,755 crores, 64% is from cash market segment and 36% is from equity derivatives segment.
