At a nominal fee, a resident will have the option to upgrade their ZoloSure membership to variants with higher healthcare benefits and medical insurance sum insured upto INR 5 lakhswhich will get added to their monthly rent.
Zolo is the largest provider of urban living services pan India which develops and operates innovative, digitalized living concepts for target groups with differentiated needs. The market leader recently raised $56 million Series C fundraise from Investcorp, Nexus Ventures Partners, Mirae Assets, Trifecta Capital, among others bringing the total raised amount to $90 million.
Commenting on the new initiative co-founder and CEO Dr. Nikhil Sikri said, “Most of the Zolo residents are young professionals and students who have moved into a new city. In these uncertain times, it is a challenge for people to make long term commitments, provide big deposits and buy furniture let alone get comprehensive healthcare benefits such as doctor tele-consultation and medical insurance which takes care of them for covid-19.
As the pandemic rages on, we noticed that a lot of them did not have any healthcare plans. Those who had, only had insurance which isprovidedunder their Employer’s policy. With the job market being unpredictable and cash flow becoming difficult, we did not want them to be in a situation where they lose their job as well as their medical insurance.”
He further added, “At Zolo wellbeing is a top priority. With social distancing becoming a norm the team understands that there is an increased risk of isolation leading to anxiety and depression. Job insecurities, anxiety, and stress feed into it further bringing health risks to the surface.
Zolo has implemented various measures to help their residents deal with the changing circumstances and dedicated themselves not only towards the pursuit of excellence in it but also towards providing Zolo-ites with incentives for pursuing healthy ways of life.
Customer health and safety is embedded into all phases of their work by design, offerings, and business decisions. The robust sense of community in Zolo is built on strong values of responsibility, care and commitment and will only grow stronger with the new initiative.”
This initiative is in line with all the earlier initiatives that have been done by Zolo including rent waivers, interview training and community support.
