Sandesh Shandilya roped to Kabir Singh makers next
Sandesh Shandilya is most known for his work like Piya Basanti, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Chameli, and Jab We Met. The music director’s lilting musical compositions in the recently released Shikara received wide appreciation from all over.
The film, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, had the backdrop of Kashmir and Shandilya’s melodies paid a worthy tribute to the magnificent beauty of the place.
The sheer magic of the film’s music brought producer Ashwin Varde’s attention to Shandilya. The Kabir Singh producer recently called the music director to congratulate him on the melodious songs. Shandilya was pleasantly surprised when Varde then offered him to score the music of his next, yet untitled film.
Says Shandilya, “It feels heartening when your work is appreciated and more so when it is rewarded like this.” The music of Kabir Singh, produced by Varde, broke all records last year and also received the Filmfare Award for Best Music Album. That makes this gesture all the more special for the music maestro.
Ashwin Varde says that he has offered Shandilya his next film purely because he finds his music refreshing and original. “Look at his Sandesh’s body of work,” he states. “He is one of the finest musical talents we have. He’s a true artist. His songs have a special touch. I am extremely happy and pleased to be working with him. I’m sure he’s going to create some exceptional music.”
