Sai Tamhankar bags an IIFA nomination for Mimi
It is raining awards for Sai Tamhankar this year! Recently the multi-lingual superstar took home the Best Actor trophy for Dhurala at a prestigious award show. And now comes the news that she has also bagged a nomination at the International Indian Film Academy Awards.
Sai Tamhankar has earned a nomination for Best Performance in a Supporting Role for her character in Mimi at IIFA. The versatile actress, known to be beyond languages and genres, essayed the character of Shama in the acclaimed drama and garnered massive acclaim for the same in 2021.
While sharing her excitement, Sai Tamhankar said, “I am proud to have worked on a film like Mimi. It bravely took the subject of surrogacy and gave its issues the deserved attention. Hence, making my character even more special and crucial. I had the best time exploring Shama with the narrative of the film. Having won an IIFA nomination makes me emotional, happy, and, more than that, humble. I hope the audience and critics keep finding my work engaging.”
