“Spirit of Sri Lanka” Food Festival Begins at Sheraton Grand Palace from 25 to 31 March
Indore, 24 March 2026: Street food in India is known for its spicy flavors and wide variety. But in the world of international cuisine, there are also many unique tastes that are slowly reaching city kitchens. In this direction, Sheraton Grand Palace, in collaboration with Sheraton Colombo Hotel, is presenting this experience through its new event “The Spirit of Sri Lanka” Food Festival. The festival has started from 25 March and will continue till 31 March, held daily from 7:30 PM at Sheraton Grand Palace Indore. Guests will experience a special journey filled with bold spices, rich aromas, and traditional recipes passed down through generations.
The food festival includes many special dishes: Polos Ambula (baby jack curry), Kiri Kaju Maluwa (cashew curry), Amba Anama (mango curry), Annasi Maluwa (pineapple curry), Ala Beduma (tempered potato), Ela Walu Kottu (vegetable kottu), Parippu Vade (dal fritters), Ela Walu Roti (vegetable roti), Batu Moju (brinjal moju), and Sinhala Achcharu (Sri Lankan pickle). Each dish reflects not only taste but also the essence of Sri Lankan culture in its presentation.
Chef Pankaj Rana, Executive Sous Chef at Sheraton Grand Palace, said, “For us, this festival is not just about food. We want every guest to experience the rich culinary heritage and diverse flavors of Sri Lanka as soon as they step in. Through this event, we are presenting Sri Lankan cuisine in India while also creating a cultural exchange, helping people connect with Sri Lanka’s colors, traditions, and food heritage. We have designed this festival in a way that every dish offers both authentic taste and a touch of freshness. Along with Chef Lakshman, we ensured that each dish is served in its original flavor to make this experience memorable.”
Chef K. A. Lakshman, Sous Chef at Sheraton Colombo Hotel, said, “Sri Lankan cuisine is not just a mix of spices, but an extension of our culture and traditions. Every dish has a story behind it, which we want to share with guests through this festival. Our aim is to let people in Indore experience the true taste of Sri Lanka.”
Guests attending the festival will enjoy a unique cultural journey along with the distinctive flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine. This event highlights the importance of international cuisines in Indore’s food scene and plays a key role in enriching the city’s culinary diversity.
