India’s Best Dancer – Judge Karisma Kapoor
You’ve been part of some of Bollywood’s most iconic dance songs. While watching contestants perform on this stage, do you ever find yourself feeling nostalgic about your own journey with dance in films?
Response- Absolutely, it brings back a lot of beautiful memories. Dance has been such an integral part of my journey in films, and every performance I see here reminds me of those iconic moments. Watching these contestants perform with so much passion and dedication feels both nostalgic and incredibly inspiring.
This season’s theme is ‘India Wala Dance.’ As a judge, what does that phrase mean to you when you see contestants expressing their individuality through their performances?
Response- For me, ‘India Wala Dance’ is all about individuality and self-expression. It’s about owning your unique style, being confident in who you are, and not being afraid to stand out. When contestants truly connect with their identity, that’s when their performance becomes truly memorable.
Coming from a film background where dance has played such a significant role in storytelling, what unique perspective do you feel you bring to the judging panel?
Response- Coming from films, I have always seen dance as a powerful storytelling tool. It’s not just about steps, but about emotion, expression, and connecting with the audience. I hope to bring that perspective to the panel, looking for performances where technique and emotion come together seamlessly to create impact.
4.India’s Best Dancer has become an important platform for emerging talent across the country. What message would you like to share with young dancers ?
Response- My message to young dancers would be to stay true to yourself, keep learning, and trust your journey. There will always be challenges, but consistency and belief in your craft make all the difference. Platforms like this not only showcase talent but also shape you into a stronger, more confident artist.
