Support Wings Leads ‘Bleed With Pride’ Initiative, Empowering 170+ Women and Girls in Indore, Breaking the Silence Around Menstrual Health

Indore, Madhya Pradesh | August 9, 2026: In a powerful step towards menstrual equity, Bleed With Pride organised a menstrual hygiene awareness event at Nehru Nagar, Narsingh Ki Chawl, near Chandrapal Ustaad Vyayamshala, Indore, on 9th August. The event brought together 170+ beneficiaries, including school-going girls and women from rural areas, supported by a dedicated team of 10 volunteers.

Conducted in collaboration with BAALA, the initiative focused on menstrual hygiene awareness and breaking the taboos that continue to surround menstruation. Through open conversation and education, the event aimed to create lasting change in how
communities understand and talk about periods.

The drive went beyond awareness-building. By encouraging girls and women to speak openly about menstruation, the initiative worked to advance women’s education, reducing the stigma-driven barriers that keep girls from school and information. It also addressed health risks linked to poor menstrual hygiene management, which can otherwise go unaddressed due to a lack of awareness. A key part of the initiative was environmental sustainability. BAALA’s contribution of reusable sanitary pads gave every beneficiary a practical, eco-conscious alternative to disposable products, helping cut down on the environmental waste generated during menstruation.

The initiative had a visible impact on the local community, with participants engaging openly in conversations that are often kept silent. The event served as a reminder that meaningful change begins with awareness, education, and the courage to speak up.
Through initiatives like these, Bleed With Pride continues its mission to normalise conversations around menstruation, combining health awareness with sustainable solutions to build a healthier, more informed community.
