CARE CHL Hospitals Launches ‘Pranaam’ in Indore to Strengthen Elder-Friendly Healthcare

Comprehensive initiative to support senior citizens through personalised healthcare, preventive wellness, easier hospital navigation, caregiver support and community engagement

Indore, September 21, 2026: CARE CHL Hospitals today launched ‘Pranaam’ in Indore, a comprehensive elder-care initiative designed to make healthcare more accessible, personalised and reassuring for senior citizens. Going beyond hospital treatment, the programme focuses on continuity of care, preventive health, healthy ageing, easier access to healthcare services and meaningful engagement, while ensuring seniors experience dignity, respect and support throughout their healthcare journey.

The initiative was formally unveiled by Mahindra Hardiya, Member of Legislative Assembly, Madhya Pradesh in the presence of Mr. Tariq Tajdar, HCOO, CARE CHL Hospitals, Indore; Dr C P Kotari, Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist; Dr Manish Porwal, Senior CTVS; Nikita, Head – Community Connect; senior hospital leadership, doctors, senior citizens and other guests.

With India’s senior citizen population crossing 150 million and expected to grow significantly over the coming decade, there is an increasing need for healthcare systems to evolve around the specific needs of an ageing population. Elder care can no longer be viewed only through the lens of treating age-related illnesses. It also needs to address prevention, accessibility, continuity of care, independence and, importantly, dignity and respect throughout the healthcare journey.

For many senior citizens, particularly those living alone or dependent on family members and caregivers, navigating hospital visits, investigations, multiple specialist consultations and follow-up appointments can be challenging. Growing older should not make healthcare harder to access or navigate. Pranaam has been designed around this thought — to make the healthcare journey simpler, more comfortable and more supportive for seniors.

Unlike conventional healthcare membership programmes that primarily focus on financial benefits, Pranaam is designed as a holistic elder-support ecosystem. The initiative provides dedicated elder-support assistance, priority care pathways, caregiver-inclusive consultations, simplified communication, post-visit follow-up support and access to a dedicated Pranaam Helpline.

The programme also encourages active and healthy ageing through activities such as chair yoga, walking groups, hobby and creativity clubs, reading circles, health awareness sessions and community engagement activities. Members will additionally receive benefits on preventive health check programmes, outpatient consultations, inpatient services and pharmacy services, encouraging regular health screening and timely medical care.

Speaking at the launch, Mahindra Hardiya, Member of Legislative Assembly, Madhya Pradesh, said, “As we grow older, what matters is not only living longer, but living those years with good health, dignity and independence. Our elders have spent a lifetime caring for their families and contributing to society, and they deserve respect, care and support at every stage of ageing. Initiatives such as Pranaam can help senior citizens stay active, informed and connected, while making healthcare support easier to access when they need it. I appreciate the leadership of CARE CHL Hospitals for bringing such a thoughtful initiative to Indore and for recognising that caring for our elders goes beyond treatment.”

Mr. Tariq Tajdar, HCOO, CARE CHL Hospitals, Indore, said, “For senior citizens, even navigating a large hospital can sometimes be challenging. Under Pranaam, we are creating a dedicated helpdesk to assist elders throughout their hospital journey, along with priority queues and support in accessing the services they need. The idea is simple — when a senior citizen walks into our hospital, they should spend less time figuring out where to go and more time focusing on their health. We want to make every interaction simpler, more comfortable and respectful.”

As part of its broader focus on senior-friendly healthcare, Aster DM Quality Care Limited has expanded its ‘Pranaam’ elder-care initiative to Indore, extending the programme through CARE CHL Hospitals to support and engage senior citizens in the city.

Through Pranaam, CARE CHL Hospitals aims to contribute to a more elder-friendly healthcare ecosystem — one that goes beyond treating illness to support healthy ageing, preventive care, dignity, independence and continued engagement, while making healthcare easier for senior citizens and their families to navigate.
