Bhumi Satish Pednekkar on Family’s Concern After She Took Off to Volunteer in Assam
Bhumi Satish Pednekkar did her bit to extend help and relief to flood-hit Assam. Pednekkar had teamed up with Bharat Disaster Relief Fund (BDRF) to contribute to the betterment of the situation and was present in Assam from August 6-9. Recently, the actress spoke about staying in touch with her mother and taking care of her concerns and worries.
“Of course, my mother worries; she’s my mother, she’s always going to worry! But I try my best to stay in touch and make sure I don’t give her too much reason to be anxious,” she says.
Recalling the situation of villages in Sivasagar and Jorhat, Pednekkar shares, “In several villages, the water had still not receded. In places where it had, what was left behind was heartbreaking… homes filled with muck, sand and debris, and families who had essentially lost everything they owned. I remember thinking, how does one even begin to rebuild a life from here?”
This wasn’t the first time that Bhumi Pednekkar had extended help to flood-ravaged zone. The actress had already been seen wading through knee-deep water to reach flood-hit homes, and even arriving by a boat at the residence.
