Children give world clarion call to save environment from Indore’s Holkar Stadium
On the occasion of completing 60 years of Indo-German co-operation, once again painting and neighbourhood competitions have been organized for the students of Indore as part of the environment sustenance awareness program.
In the first stage of competition over 1,800 students participated at The Emerald Heights International School. Out of all these participants the best 50 were selected for the second level of competition held at The Holkar Stadium in Indore on 10 October 2019.
Participating students tried to depict and showcase various innovative ideas on energy and environment conservation. These students from various schools of Indore had tried to strengthen diplomatic relationship between India and Germany on the occasion of 60 years presence of Indo-German Development Co-operation (GIZ) in India.
Senior Project Co-ordinator of GIZ (Energy Efficiency, Mr. Nitin Jain appreciated the efforts of the participating schools and their students. He also suggested other cities and states to follow the steps undertaken by Indore City towards sustainable development.
The eminent jury members consisting of Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Mr. Govind Joshi, Mr. Rakesh Jain, Mr. Rajiv Sharma, Mr. Ashok Gupta and Mr. Nitin Jain also praised the efforts of participating students.
Senior artist from Indore Mr. Pankaj Agrawal expressed confidence of Indore winning number one position in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for the fourth time in a row.
Ex-Secretary of BCCI, Mr. Sanjay Jagdale, felicitated the students by giving them ‘Certificates of Merit’ and mementos and praised their efforts. Mr. Rohit Pandit, CAO of MPCA also graced the occasion.
Mr. Nitin Jain expressed his gratitude for the efforts put in by BMZ, The Emerald Heights International School and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.
Project Co-ordinator Mr. Anil Sharma from GIZ mentioned that three best students from both the competitions would be given awards by PM Mr. Narender Modi and senior political leaders in a function to be organized in Delhi in the month of November 2019.
Project Co-ordinator, GIZ Mr. Ravindra Kumar, Mr. Rohan Punekar of MPCA, Consultants Mr. Vinay Kumar and Ms. Jasmeet Kakkar also graced the occasion.
