PIMR Indore first higher academic institute in MP to get highest NAAC grading A++
Indore: Central India’s leading B School, Prestige Institute of Management and Research (PIMR), Indore has become the first higher academic institution in Madhya Pradesh and the central India to receive the highest A++ rating with a CGPA of 3.57 out of 4 in the new Revised Accreditation Format from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an apex autonomous organization of the government of India that assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions in the country.
This is for the first time that any higher academic institution from Madhya Pradesh has received the highest A ++ rating from the NAAC under the Revised Accreditation Format which is more tough than NAAC’s earlier accreditation format, said Dr Davish Jain, Chairman, Prestige Education Foundation while talking to the media persons here on Thursday.
He said the grading was conferred on PIMR Indore by NAAC on the basis of evaluation of its performance in seven different quality parameters including Curricular Aspects, Teaching Learning Evaluation, Research, Innovation and extension activities, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression, Governance Leadership and Management and Institutional Values and Best Practices. On the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), PIMR Indore scored 3.57 points out of 4.00, which made the institution eligible to be granted the A++ grade under RAF of the NAAC.
Dr. Jain said that with this illustrious grading, PIMR Indore has joined the league of top 15 academic institutions of the country to be conferred with NAAC A++ grade under revised accreditation framework. He further informed that out of 10819 institutions that have been accredited by NAAC under new revised accreditation framework, only 27 institutes have received A++ grade.
Senior Director, PIMR Dr. Yogeshwari Phatak said that receiving such a prestigious rating from the NAAC is an endorsement of the best teaching practices, career opportunities, infrastructure and research facilities that PIMR provides to its students. “The highest academic rating is a testimony to the PIMR’s undisputable recognition as central India’s finest B School’’, Dr Phatak said adding that it all has been possible because of the hard work of faculties, staff, students, and alumni.
She said that the NAAC peer team visited the Institute on March 4-5, 2021 and appreciated quality of education, research output, teaching-learning, infrastructure etc. The team also appreciated AIC Prestige Inspire Foundation, Incubation Center of the Institute, supported by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India, providing various facilities to startups.
Apart from that, the Institute’s academic collaboration with international universities, student development activities, innovative and interactive teaching pedagogy, best curriculum, and world class infrastructure and best practices like management lab, holistic centre, and literacy mission are some of the other factors which helped the institute to get this highly coveted NAAC grading, she added.
Dr. Anil Bajpai, COO of Prestige Education Foundation, thanked and congratulated all the stakeholders including faculties, staff, students, parents and alumni for their sincere effort in achieving this milestone. Dr Bajpai said that the Prestige Education Foundation is soon coming up with its first Private University for which the first phase of construction is nearing completion.
Dr. Deepak Jaroliya, Coordinator-IQAC, informed that NAAC is an autonomous institution under UGC that evaluates the performance of educational institutions on several parameters. The NAAC methodology for Assessment and Accreditation is very much similar to that followed by Quality Assurance (QA) agencies across the world and consists of self-assessment by the institution along with external peer assessment organized by NAAC.
