World Environment Week: Pragya Kapoor Urges Netizens to Support Local Communities at Kedarnath, Talks About Leaving Behind a Positive Environment Footprint
Kedarnath Producer Pragya Kapoor has always actively advocated for the environment, its preservation and sustainability. This time, the filmmaker has brought special emphasis to the spiritual site, Kedarnath, and has opened up about supporting the locals as well as protecting the mountain ecosystem.
Taking to her social media handle and sharing a video showcasing a large number of devotees arriving at the spot, she wrote, “Every year, the growing devotion draws more people to Kedarnath, highlighting just how deeply cherished this sacred site is. As we celebrate this vibrant faith, it’s equally important to ensure we are supporting the local communities who call these mountains home.”
She adds, “True reverence for Kedarnath means balancing our spiritual journeys with mindful preservation. It’s about ensuring that our footprint is a positive one, protecting both the delicate mountain ecosystem and the everyday lives of the residents who graciously host us.”
Having always extended efforts through Ek Saath Foundation, Kapoor continued, “The Himalayas give us so much, and protecting them requires consistent effort. At Kedarnath, @pradeep sangwan and @thehealinghimalayas team are helping manage waste, creating better systems for recycling, and encouraging responsible tourism. Their work is helping preserve the beauty of the mountains for future generations. Take a moment to learn about their efforts and support them if you can.”
Especially while the world celebrates Environment Week, Pragya Kapoor brings special attention to improving the situation of the spiritual site, coming together to support locals and collectively protecting the ecosystem for a greener tomorrow.
