Saif Ali Khan recalls being nervous around Mr. Amitabh Bachchan during shooting film ‘Eklavya’ on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18

Mumbai: On the hotseat of Sony Entertainment Television’s Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, actor Saif Ali Khan shares a heartfelt nostalgic memory of working alongside host Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, admitting how intimidated and nervous he felt during shooting a film with him called Eklavya: The Royal Guard.

Reflecting on his experience shooting for Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Saif Ali Khan who played the role of Prince Harshwardhan, expresses his deep respect for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s unmatched command over language and performance by stating, “Pehli baar jab maine Amitji ke saath film sign ki thi tab main bohot heen nervous tha. Hum Eklavaya film ki shooting kar rahe the aur mere kaafi lambe dialogues the uss film mein toh main sab seekh raha tha. Main itni respect karta hoon inki aur main thoda nervous tha and I thought if Amitji hote toh voh kaise dialogue yaad karte. Next day when we did the scene and Amitji’s scene was happening and Amitji said Saif jara que dena, fir unhone bola ki pura dialogue bolna and I was like thank god I prepared and remembered the entire dialogue and then we did a film called Aarakshan. I have always been inspired by him and always learnt something from him all the time. I have never seen any actor who has control on the dialogues in all languages.”

(The first time I signed a film with Amitji, I was very nervous. We were shooting for Eklavya, and I had quite long dialogues in that film, so I was learning everything. I have so much respect for him, and I was a little nervous. I thought, if Amitji were in my place, how would he memorise the dialogues? The next day, when we did the scene and it was Amitji’s scene, Amitji said, ‘Saif, just give me the cue.’ Then he told me to say the entire dialogue, and I was like, thank God I had prepared and remembered the entire dialogue. Then we did a film called Aarakshan. I have always been inspired by him and have always learnt something from him. I have never seen any actor who has such control over dialogues in all languages)
