25 Years of Dia Mirza! The Many Hats Donned by the Actress
Over the past 25 years, Dia Mirza has built a repertoire that reads like a powerful script that presents her as an actor, producer, environmentalist and a woman who has built it all on her own terms. Mirza has always been the actress who has carried charm and resilience without noise or excess drama. Having stepped into Bollywood with the iconic film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, becoming an environmentalist and an impactful producer, the actress has come a long way. She’s gone beyond serving films that not just make the right noise, but also carry a heavy recall value.
Her debut film Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein was not just a box office hit, but also spotlighted Dia’s presence and sincerity that left a mark, something that continues to stay strong. In addition to being an actress, Dia Mirza also ventured into the space of film production under the banner of One India Stories, which lays emphasis on multi-format content to expand her role in shaping narratives. From producing Bobby Jasoos to Panha, Dia Mirza is tapping into stories that cater to a wider audience in terms of impact, novelty and substance.
In addition to acting and producing, Dia Mirza added another golden feather to her cap as an environmentalist. Dia has long advocated for gender equality, children’s welfare and environmental issues. In 2017, she was also appointed by the United Nations as its Environment Goodwill Ambassador. The actress has also served as the brand ambassador for the Wildlife Trust of India. Mirza’s advocacy is now as integral to her life as her work in cinema.
And while she continues to expand her influential social work, Dia Mirza is basking in the love coming in for her latest releases, Ikka and Operation Safed Sagar. 25 years in, and Dia Mirza refuses to slow down across spaces!
