The future of OTT is quite spectacular: Surya Sharma
Actor Surya Sharma is playing the lead character in Sony Live’s series Undekhi. In this, he will be seen in the role of Rinku. Surya believes that the future of OTT is very bright and in the time that is going on, OTT is sure to get importance. Along with this, he also shared his experiences related to the show.
How did you back the role for Undekhi on Sony Liv?
In 2018, I was shooting for Hostages and I was in Delhi and Rohit Phillip, he is a creative head in Applause Entertainment and was Creative of Hostages too. He came to me with a script and told me to read and meet the director of Applause Entertainment Sidharth Sir after this show.
On meeting Sidharth Sir, he told me the synopsis of the story and I discovered a complex character and advised me to give the audition of the show. And after two days I gave the auditions of the show and I was locked in the show. That is how I got Undekhi.
Tell me about your character that you are playing in Undekhi?
Rinku is a very straightforward and ruthless type and the best thing I like about Rinku is his immense love for his Father which is his strength in the full story.
Was it easy or difficult for you to get into this skin of character? Did you go into under some training or preparation?
Yes, I attended a workshop for two and half months and it was an intense workshop and very exhausting, and for achieving something in your life one has to do hard work and Rinku has an aura and to get that impression of that aggression we put on efforts, and likewise, I used to isolate myself to do dialogues and rehearsal.
Can you tell us something about your costars and other characters working in the film? How was it working with them?
Everybody is so talented like I have seen a lot of Harsh Sir movies and he is very experienced and I did enjoy working with him as I have learned a lot from him and we used to share a good bond and now when I come to Dibeneyu Sir, he has his own charm which he brings to screen and I have learned a lot from him too.
There were many young actors too, who performed so well and gave their best. Above all, there was Siddharth Sir, who use to motivate us and solve out all our problems and treat us all like family and that is the reason Undekhi came out as a great show.
Can You share any thrilling experience from your shooting days?
I have two-three memories from the show, one is I belong to Himachal Pradesh and I was lucky enough to shoot Undekhi in Manali. My family members came to see me, and I felt very great to have my parents see me performing and its best memory.
The second is I adopted a dog while shooting and dogs over there in Manali are very fluffy and cute and I sent him back with my parents. His name is Tiger and as soon as I see him Undekhi memory comes in front of me and it refreshes me.
What do you think of the future in OTT?
I think the future of OTT is bright and in times like these OTT will be given preference.
Lastly, any message for Audience?
Undekhi will entertain you a lot, so must watch it and let me know as feedback is quite important for me.
