Vineet Kumar Singh’s ”Aadhaar” to release in theatres on Feb 5
The trailer for the much-awaited film, Aadhar is out starring the Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Kumar Singh. A social drama, the film
is slated to release theatrically on February 5th.
Aadhar plot’s is based on the story of the first person (essayed by Vineet) in Jamua, Jharkhand to obtain his Aadhaar number and is directed by the award-winning filmmaker Suman Ghosh of the Bengali film “Podokkhep” fame.
Set in rural India, the film traces the journey of the introduction of the Aadhar card in India and its implementation via the journey of the first person to have enrolled for the same. The trailer opens with villagers going gaga over the rumour that the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set visiting their village.
Their expectations are shattered when it is revealed that some government officials have come to introduce Aadhar cards instead. What follows is the story of the villagers trying to grasp how Bharat became India with the technology and implementation of the Aadhaar card.
Here is where we meet Pharsua (the character played by Vineet), a resident of the village, Jamua who volunteers to become the first person to receive the identity card. Inspite of this, the villagers are still of the opinion that the government will misuse their information to monitor them, and thus they show no interest in getting their cards made.
However, Pharsua doesn’t lose hope and sets out on a journey to get the Aadhaar number and what follows is ultimate chaos.
Veteran actors Raghubir Yadav, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra will also be seen playing pivotal roles in this dramedy.
The film premiered at the 24th edition of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October 2019, followed by a screening at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival the same year.
