Dia Mirza surrounded herself with extraordinary young changemakers from around the world as she marked her presence at the recently held Young World Summit in Cape Town. The actress and environmentalist took to her social media handle to share a series of pictures from the event, and also penned a wholesome note that captured her experience.

“Hope is in the action,” believes Dia Mirza and nowhere has she felt it more powerfully that One Young World Summit, she says. Calling the entire experience deeply moving and incredibly inspiring, she adds, “My conversation with the wonderful polar explorer and climate communicator Grace Cordsen was a beautiful reminder of the power of storytelling to connect us to each other and to our living planet. Mirza emphasises that the platform offers a space where young voices are celebrated than just being heard; “where ideas find allies, courage finds community, and the possibilities for meaningful change become limitless. ”The actress acknowledges that in a world where despair can feel overwhelming, the young leaders are reminding that empathy is powerful, courage is contagious and hope is not passive. “Hope is what we do,” she says.

The actress believes that “the future is not something we inherit. It is something we create. Together,” and she intends to spread this belief manifold.
