Drishyam is all set to be global with Korean, Spanish and English versions in the works confirms Abhishek Pathak

Outside of India, the Drishyam franchise is growing with Korean, Spanish and English adaptations in various stages of development. Director Abhishek Pathak, who helms Drishyam: The Conclusion, reveals that work on the international versions is already underway, with the Korean adaptation closest to production.

Speaking about the franchise’s global journey, Pathak says the Korean version has moved beyond the writing stage and is now gearing up to go on floors. “We are done with the Korean script right now. We are going to shoot right now. There’s a Spanish one which is starting off, and there’s an English version which we are working on right now at the same time,” he says.

The move comes as the Drishyam format continues to travel across markets, with the core premise of a family going to extraordinary lengths to protect one of its own proving adaptable across languages and cultures.

For Pathak, the expansion also comes at an interesting juncture for the Hindi franchise, with Drishyam: The Conclusionpositioned as the final chapter of the story featuring Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. While the Hindi film is charting its own narrative and is not based on the upcoming Malayalam Drishyam 3, the wider Drishyam universe is now clearly finding a life beyond its original markets
