Power, Purpose & 75 Women Achievers: Nivedita Basu’s Self-Made Woman Awards Make a Grand Delhi & North Debut
New Delhi/Gurugram, October 2026: One stage. Over 75 women achievers. More than 500 guests. And an extraordinary cross-section of women from public administration, policing, entrepreneurship, fashion, entertainment, media, beauty, healthcare, social impact and the creator economy.
The inaugural Self-Made Woman Achievers Awards – Delhi & North Chapter 2026, founded and curated by Nivedita Basu, brought together some of the most accomplished and influential women from Delhi and North India on 24 September 2026 at A-Dot, Gurugram.
Held in association with Van Vivaha, India Luxury Foundation and A-Dot Gurugram, the evening emerged as a powerful celebration of women who have created their own identities, built careers and businesses, broken barriers and made an impact in vastly different walks of life.
What made the first edition particularly distinctive was the sheer diversity of women sharing the same platform.
From legendary beauty entrepreneur Shahnaz Husain, celebrated fashion designer Rina Dhaka and acclaimed classical dancer Shovana Narayan, to singer Shibani Kashyap, actress Pooja Banerjee and actor and public-service advocate Shikha Malhotra, the evening brought together familiar names alongside women whose extraordinary work has created impact beyond the spotlight.
The power list extended to some formidable women in administration and public service. Rakhee Gupta Bhandari, IAS, Principal Secretary, Government of Punjab; Ritu Maheshwari, IAS, Secretary, Medical Health & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Rajshri Singh, IPS; and Tanu Sharma, SP, were among the distinguished women recognised for their contribution to governance, policing and public service.
The worlds of entrepreneurship, fashion, media and social impact were equally strongly represented. Among those honoured were Shaine Soni, Nikita Arya, CA Tripti Shinghal Somani, Swaati J., Yashika Shaikh, Shanaya Arora and Monika Bhadouria, alongside achievers including Priyanka Sharma, Jasleen Lamba, Dr. Palka Grover, Pooja Yadav Kaif, Pooja Gogia, Navneet Grover, Ananya Utpal, Rohini Vakil Kapoor, Maneet Bhatia, Dr. Debasree Banik, Surbhi Shweta, Shweta Tiwari, Shallu Chawla and Anupama Gupta.
It was this coming together of bureaucrats and entrepreneurs, artists and actors, designers and creators, corporate professionals and changemakers that gave the evening its character. The common thread wasn’t profession, age or celebrity—it was the journey of women who had built something of their own.
For Nivedita Basu, a media professional and brand builder who has herself reinvented her career as an entrepreneur, the evening marked the transformation of Self-Made Woman from a media platform into a growing women-centric intellectual property.
“I wanted one room where we didn’t have to define a successful woman by one profession or one kind of achievement. A woman running an enterprise, a woman administering a state, a woman creating art, building a community, entertaining millions or changing lives on the ground—all of them have earned their place at the table. To see 75 such women come together for our very first chapter was overwhelming. Delhi & North was our beginning; the dream is much bigger.”
— Nivedita Basu, Founder & Curator, Self-Made Woman
With over 500 people under one roof, the evening went beyond trophies and photographs. It became a convergence of stories, conversations and women from dramatically different worlds celebrating one another.
The Delhi & North Chapter also established the larger ambition behind the property: to take Self-Made Woman Achievers Awards across cities, discover powerful stories beyond conventional celebrity circles and build an enduring platform where women are recognised, documented and amplified.
The Self-Made Woman Achievers Awards – Delhi & North Chapter 2026, held in association with Van Vivaha, India Luxury Foundation and A-Dot Gurugram, may have concluded its first chapter—but for Nivedita Basu and Self-Made Woman, the story has only just begun.
75 achievers. 500+ guests. Countless journeys. One powerful platform — Self-Made Woman. PRESS NOTE
