SBI General Insurance celebrates “Kisaan Diwas” by taking the Insurance Awareness to the hinterland

December. On Kisan Diwas, SBI General Insurance organized an Insurance Awareness drive for farmers thereby enabling financial inclusion. The workshops were conducted across 50 villages from the states of Rajasthan, Gujrat, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and others across the country.

This drive aimed at educating the farmers about importance of several crop insurance and non-crop insurance solutions, thereby helping them to be prepared for natural catastrophes.

Basis several past rural engagements, we have noticed that farmers need to be equipped with insurance related knowledge, which eventually will act as a counter-cyclical measure for them.

Kisan Diwas revolves around acknowledging the contribution by our farmers, and it was a best fit to talk about insurance awareness on this day aiming to empower farmers to mitigate risks arising from farm related losses.
