Indore Set to Host Animal Liberation Conference India 2026
Conference to Conclude with the National Animal Rights March
Indore, January 05, 2026: The Animal Liberation Conference India 2026 will be held in Indore on January 9, 10, and 11, 2026. This three-day national conference will bring together animal rights activists, lawyers, doctors, social workers, and citizens from different parts of the country on one platform. The aim of the conference is to strengthen efforts related to animal rights at the grassroots level across India.
The conference is being organised by Indore Animal Liberation in collaboration with Direct Action Everywhere (DxE). This conference will not be limited to spreading awareness only; it will focus on helping people understand how they can work effectively and in an organised way for animals in their own cities and local areas.
Mr. Ajay Kirdiya, Co-founder of Indore Animal Liberation, said: “During this three-day conference, participants will be given information on important and practical topics related to animal rights. These include understanding laws related to animal cruelty and how to use them correctly, investigating and documenting cases of animal abuse, using media and social media effectively, and discussing strategies to strengthen animal rights efforts at the local level.”
Mr. Suresh Vyas and Ms. Durga Balani of Indore Animal Liberation said: “One of the core principles of the conference is that no social movement can become strong without ground-level experience. That is why the conference will not only provide theoretical knowledge to participants, but will also offer opportunities to learn practical, on-ground work. This includes vision building, investigations, protests, and outreach activities carried out in different parts of the country.”
The conference will conclude with the National Animal Rights March, Indore 2026, scheduled for January 11, 2026. This march will focus on a very serious and long-ignored issue related to animal rights in India: bringing sexual abuse of animals under the scope of the law.
Earlier, sexual abuse of animals was considered a serious offence under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. However, after the implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, there is no clear criminal law that specifically addresses this form of violence. Although the government tried to address this issue through the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which proposes to clearly define sexual abuse of animals as a punishable offence, the bill has not yet been passed by Parliament.
Mr. Siddharth Dufaria of Indore Animal Liberation said: “Through the National Animal Rights March, the government will be urged to clearly declare sexual abuse of animals as a criminal offence, introduce strict punishment including jail terms, ensure such cases are recorded by the National Crime Records Bureau, and pass the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Amendment) Bill, 2022 without any delay in Parliament.”
Indore Animal Liberation is a local animal rights group that raises its voice against cruelty towards animals and promotes a vegan and plant-based lifestyle in society.
