Tigmanshu Dhulia on his reason behind casting Arshad Warsi as Maharaj in Ghamasaan

Speaking about why Tigmanshu Dhulia chose to cast Arshad Warsi in Ghamasaan, he said , “I haven’t seen Golmaal or Hungama, but I had seen Seher and, of course, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. I had also written his first film, Tere Mere Sapne, so I was familiar with his work. For me, there was never a conflict about the fact that Arshad had done comic roles. I never thought of him as a comedian, so I didn’t question how he would play this character. I knew that he was a very accomplished actor. I had seen what he could do as an actor, and that’s what mattered to me. I didn’t approach him with any baggage of his comic image. I only looked at whether he could play this particular character, and I felt that he could.”
