Jio Studios & Mumbai Film Company Celebrate 50 Successful Days of Raja Shivaji in Cinemas
When Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company’s Raja Shivaji released on Maharashtra Day, it arrived with immense expectations. Fifty days later, the film has emerged as a historic success, capturing the hearts of audiences and delivering a record-breaking box-office performance. Directed by and starring Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh, the film crossed the ₹100-crore mark worldwide, becoming the first Marathi film to achieve this milestone.
As Raja Shivaji celebrates 50 successful days in cinemas, its impact extends far beyond numbers. The film has reignited the spirit of Hindavi Swarajya and strengthened the emotional connection audiences share with the timeless legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. More than its box-office success, the film’s greatest achievement has been bringing audiences together to celebrate one of India’s most revered icons on an unprecedented scale.
The grand historical epic features a stellar ensemble cast from both Hindi and Marathi cinema, including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh, alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the lead role.
Presented by Jio Studios, Raja Shivaji, a Mumbai Film Company production, is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh. A historical epic based on the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Raja Shivaji was released in cinemas worldwide on 1 May 2026 in Marathi and Hindi, bringing to life an epic that celebrates India’s history with scale, soul, and spectacle.
