Shiamak Davar, Hans Zimmer to Nitesh Tiwari: Ramayana Brings the Brilliance of Cinematic Maestros

The day is finally here when Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana arrives on the big screens ahead of Diwali, and this epic is seeing the response that it deserves – a roaring one! Behind the brilliance of performances seen by some of the most experienced actors on the big screens are hands that have refined that very brilliance.

Nitesh Tiwari brings his directorial vision to offer the age-old epic a lens never seen before. From the unbelievable grandeur to offering an eagle’s-eye view to every little detail in order to justify the epic, Nitesh Tiwari serves nothing but perfection to what’s proven to be an ambitious release. In addition to this, the film also features the musical finesse of the Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, bringing them together on an Indian film for the first time. Producer Namit Malhotra says that there was no Plan B, but bringing these two legends to build a musical world never experienced before with an emotional familiarity of the music we love.

The ambition extends to the choreography, brought to life by the legendary Shiamak Davar. Behind the fierce Tandav of on-screen Ravana, played by Yash, lies the brilliance of this National Award winner, who brought with him years of experience in shaping the world of the film. He brought a unique mix of contemporary and stylized movement vocabulary to the mythological action, making it one of the highlights of the entire spectacle. In addition to this, Davar also lent his choreography skills to Jai Jai Ram, framed as an Aarti for Shri Ram. The visuals shaped for this anthem, especially the massive temple sequences have been choreographed by Shiamak Davar.

With some of the most legendary masters uniting for a Ramayana, the film is, undoubtedly, a never-seen-before epic in itself.
