Fatima Sana Shaikh Opens up About her Love for Layered Storylines: I am drawn to stories that make me uncomfortable in the best way
Fatima Sana Shaikh has carved an impressive journey that reflects her growth as a performer, right from her debut film as a child artist in Chachi 420 to her breakthrough, Dangal, to her latest release Gustaakh Ishq. Recently, the actress shared glimpses into her journey so far, choices and the growing perspective on the craft of acting. The actress opened up about navigating the film industry on her own terms and taking up unconventional roles.
“I am drawn to stories that make me uncomfortable in the best way,” she says while drawing attention to her love towards layered storylines. In an industry that continues to evolve, the actress opened up about the importance of staying grounded. She revealed she had taken up photography as a hobby, and she often loves being behind the camera.
“I am known as Fatima Sana Shaikh, the actor – but I am also a daughter, I am an amazing friend, I learn new things, I want to develop new skills,” she says while stating her learning of not attaching her self-worth to just her craft. “You have to find yourself also and not just be restricted by your job,” she adds.
Fatima has built one of the most impressive filmographies in recent memory, and she intends to maintain that graph. She’s now geared up for her next, Teen Kauwe, an upcoming spy thriller, where she steps into an intense space yet again. The first look from Teen Kauwe has already generated significant buzz, where she appears sharp and completely transformed once again. The Roy Kapur Films series, created by Abbas Tyrewala and directed by Priyanka Ghose, stars Sidhant Gupta, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Bobby Deol in a story set against the aftermath of the 1993 Bombay blasts.
